required for the 8” steel reinforced floor slab. Stacked hardwoods
create large live loading on floor slabs, requiring special soil
compaction requirements for support.
Other
features of the new design include a covered shipping area, which allows
hardwoods to be loaded in dry conditions, avoiding water damage. Special
saw dust collection systems include overhead vacuum ducts and in-floor
conveyors will keep the facility clean and contain waste products for
recycling.
